Sarah
Ever been that child who thought, do my plushies play while I am asleep or gone away from home? Do they come to life at night? Well, I met a child this year who shared with me, "There are ghosts in my plushies." We will call her Sarah; a fictional name, and she was not a former client. Nor has she been diagnosed with any mental health condition. It may seem as if this is a figment of Sarah's imagination; however, she is not the first child that I met who told me about ghosts being in their dolls, plushies, and other toys. I shared in my earlier blogs that I, too, had experiences with haunted toys. In other words, hearing about ghost plushies does not surprise me and I am sure that it will not be the last time.

Ghost Plushies
Sarah randomly told me her story. Ghost plushies was not the topic of conversation at all. We were discussing something completely different, as she held onto one of her stuffies. She introduced her stuffies to me and started to tell me that there were three individual ghosts in each of her three stuffies. The one stuffie that she was holding in her arms had a ghost in it that made her feel safe. What does safe mean? She said that it protects her from dark angels that she sees around her home and it tells her what to do about them.

Note: This is when I start to get concerned about Nebulous Children. I do not want them following the directions of ghosts, especially dark angels.

I asked, "What does it tell you to do?" She said that it tells her how to deal with dark angels. I was quiet because this did not sit well with me. She also stated that its eyes glow red which was to make sure that she is safe (as if it had magic eyes to ward off dark angels). Immediately, I sat up in my chair because this was not a good situation for Sarah to be in at all. Yet, Sarah's ghost plushies wanted to talk to me. Typically, I ignore ghosts that want to talk to me through children. Why? Because I believe that they are dark angels unless children specifically tell me that they are God's angels - and children can tell the difference. However, Sarah was adamant it on behalf of these entities, and I finally told her that I would talk to them only for her. That was also my way of trying to remove those ghosts from Sarah's stuffed animals. Once they began to talk to me through Sarah, I turned the tables and started asking questions:

  • Are you God's angel? (I already knew it was not of God)
    • Yes was the answer.
  • I see. Why are you with Sarah?
    • To protect her.
  • From what?
    • Demons.
  • Where are the demons?
    • In her room.
  • Are you a demon?
    • No. (Yes it was)
  • What do you want to ask me?
    • (silence)
  • I have a bible, will you touch it?
    • (silence)

I said to Sarah, get rid of the demon in your stuffie. Sarah understood and asked me the reason it stayed with her. I explained that sometimes, these entities attach to children because you are most vulnerable. Sarah made it leave and eventually explained to me that the other two stuffies did start to scare her. She told me they were following her to school and doing things within her home that frightened her which started to make her feel as if they were not nice ghosts. To make matters scarier, Sarah had ghosts who would hide in her closet. She dealt with ghosts a lot and throughout her family home. Specifically, in her toys or plushies. She recalled as a younger child, her toys would go off on their own (noises/sirens), and that it was not uncommon for her ghosts to enter her stuffed animals. Her parents believe in her ability to see ghosts, but also sought therapy for Sarah to ensure that her mental health remains stable. It can be quite difficult for children to navigate their ability to see ghosts and I supported Sarah's parents in their pursuit of therapy to address this matter.

If Your Stuffies or Toys Are Haunted
If you suspect or believe that a toy is haunted or has a ghostly presence, it's essential to approach the situation thoughtfully and consider various perspectives and explanations. Ghostly encounters in toys are generally considered paranormal or supernatural, and they can be a matter of personal belief.

Approach situations involving paranormal or supernatural claims with an open mind and a critical perspective. The belief in ghosts and haunted objects is subjective, and people's interpretations and experiences can vary widely. While some may find comfort or meaning in paranormal beliefs, others may seek logical explanations for unusual occurrences associated with toys. Ultimately, the best course of action depends on your personal beliefs and feelings about the situation. Try these tips:
  • Some people turn to spiritual or religious leaders for guidance or rituals to address paranormal experiences. Seek the advice of a qualified spiritual or religious authority if you feel it's appropriate.

  • If you believe the toy is causing harm or discomfort, you can choose to secure it in a safe and isolated location, away from people and other possessions.

  • If you are convinced that the toy is indeed haunted and you wish to remove it from your home, consider disposing of it in a respectful and appropriate manner.

  • If you believe a toy is haunted or if you experience unusual occurrences associated with the toy, try to remain calm. Fear and panic can make the situation more distressing.

  • Before assuming that a toy is haunted, investigate any logical or non-paranormal explanations. Unusual occurrences may be attributed to natural factors like drafts, vibrations, or even pranks by others.

  • If you are convinced that the toy is haunted or if the unusual activity persists, consider consulting experts in paranormal investigation or parapsychology. These professionals are trained to investigate and analyze paranormal phenomena.

  • Keep a detailed record of any unusual activity associated with the toy. Include dates, times, descriptions of events, and any other relevant details. Documentation can be helpful for experts who investigate paranormal claims.

  • In some cases, unusual experiences related to toys may be psychological in nature. If you or someone you know is experiencing distress, consult with a mental health professional or therapist.

I believe children when they tell me ghosts haunt their toys.  Why? Go back and read my blog, "Kids Can See Ghosts Can You?" Thank you Sarah!
