Blog 12: How Did I Survive?

Ever ask yourself that question?

I did many times. I remember that I was driving around a curve in Nashville, after I was upset with my then boyfriend in college, and "should have" hit the guardrail and plunged over it onto another highway. I arrived back at my university still shaken that I survived. Or, the times after clubbing in college when my friends and I arrived back to the dorm safely. I have been in "almost" several car accidents and could not figure out at the time, why I was still alive. I can recall many thing that happened to me which lead me to
​wonder why I am protected?

As I worked with Nebulous Children and their families, I started  asking a lot of questions about the "spiritual world." At least, many of the adults called it a spiritual world. Some of my questions pertained to my past car accident when I was in high school, or about miscarriages and other babies lost to women. One day, I asked about black birds, hummingbirds, and shadows. When you begin to work with families who have the gift to see the spiritual world, it seemed as if the questions could be endless.

However, I never wanted to stress out the families. I only asked questions when it was appropriate to do so, such as times when they wanted to discuss their gifts. What usually lead to these conversations depended upon what they could see in the office space or buildings. Public schools were huge for Nebulous Children to start speaking to me about their ability to see ghosts. Surprise, surprise. I cannot tell you how many times I have been told,
"It follows me on the bus"
"The ghost told me to do it"
"I hit her because the ghost said to"
"My paper rises when others are not looking"
"My mother saw it too. She made it go away while I was at school"

Comments about the school bus was frequently told to me, which I found interested. I thought, if only the Principals knew what I did about what makes this kid misbehave. As I read through some of my documentation recently, a lot of it still makes me chuckle. I had to work through all of these challenges with these kids, based upon what they could see which made it harder. The most interesting part about all of it was sharing with me that their classrooms would be full be of spirits, yet they were the only ones who could see them.

At least, that's what they thought...

Once, I worked with two children in the same classroom who could both see ghosts although they did not know it. And remember, I could not tell them that the other one had the same gifts. That would be violation of confidentiality unless I had parental permission, as well as the accent of the kids. These children saw some of the same things in the classroom; it was amazing, and also a bit scary at times. Both reported dark and white angels in the classroom, on the playground, and in abandoned homes as they walked home.

The abandoned homes in the St. Louis neighborhood where I was located was scary to the children. See why? If you had to walk past a home like this from school, you'd be nervous too. However, these kids could see what's lurking inside and outside of these home. Some of my clients would go into these abandoned buildings, per request of the dark angels, or just out of curiosity. On a side note, I air on the side of raising all of these buildings for safety reasons.

My clients were survivors. to me I walked a few of them home at times, after school. I asked questions,
Why did I survive car accidents?
Do angels watch over my children?
How many angels do you have around you?
Are dark angels with you on the street when you play?
Where do babies go when they pass away?
Are birds spiritual?
Why am I chosen to work with all of you?

I was curious at that point, because this was happening too often to me with children. The kids were more than willing to tell me everything that I wanted to know, as well as the parents. Here are some of the answers,
"You survived because your angel sits on your car as you drive"
"Yes, they watch over all of us, but dark angels are there too"
"You have a lot of angels around you"
"Dark angels are everywhere and can change form (shift change)"
​"Mothers will see their children again"
"Black birds are evil, but cardinals are angels"
"You are chosen because we have been with you for many years; you are OUR angel"

Wait...what?
